Details

A touring VR experience of Alphonse Mucha’s ‘The Slavs in Their Original Homeland’ (1912). Mucha created this monumental piece as part of ‘The Slav Epic’ a large-scale 20 canvas series which chronicles the history of Czechs and Slavic people.

As the lead developer, I collaborated closely with the creative team to bring the experience to life.

Step In

The user was transported into a gallery setting, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the art. The experience offered a unique opportunity to appreciate the artist's intricate details and techniques. Narration was provided by the artist's grandson, John Mucha.

Interactions

As part of creating a hands-free experience, I developed a focus mechanic that allowed users to interact with the content without physical input.

Visual Effects

Cloth physics and volumetric fog were some of the visual effects I used to bring the art to life.
